2016
Created from a month long residency at St.Mary's Works, Norwich, UK, part of The Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts Residency Programme.
During my time in residence I have been photographing the disused factory (St.Mary’s Works) in its current state and converting the images into 3D CGI animations.
Through the process of simulation, the software misread and interpreted the information, causing severe glitches and the creation of new hybrid entities that are both
real and simulated. The resultant imagery is neither artificial or real but an in-between state. I am intrigued in examining the inaccuracies of simulation and the creation of new hybrid realities incurred.
I am interested in these specific replicas and simulations becoming the only evidence of the site before it is redeveloped. The simulation’s becoming the only memory
and representation of a previous reality.
